Online Surveys

Using your PC to make a bit extra online

These are the online versions of those annoying people who come up to with a clipboard under their arm when you're busy trying to walk back to the Town Centre Car Park with five bags of shopping ! But with this it's you do it when you want to!

Online paid surveys cut that problem out, you can sit at your PC with a cup of coffee and the cat on your lap, answering away to your hearts content in your own time and unlike the shopping centre scenario, you're getting something back.
First thing to do is to register with a reputable and sensible company who do not promise earnings affording you to purchase a big car every month ! They will then give you a list of paid surveys which are current and invite you to participate. These are not compulsory, you can do whichever one's you want. Most now seem to find Surveys relating more to your postcode and household situations ie. you are obviously someone with kids at home and enjoy swimming or whatever.
Often, they won't say who the survey is for, but you can usually work it out by the questions. There are multiple answers, so it's just a case of one click per question.

Typical Online Survey questions

Do you own a car ?
How many miles do you travel in one week ?
What is the main useage ? (school journeys, work, shopping, general etc)
When purchasing a new car, what are your main considerations ? (petrol consumption, speed, colour, size etc.etc)
What car do you own at present ? (Peugot, Ford, Vauxhall etc).
And so it would go on.

Some companies pay you (not many), some simply put you in a prize draw once a month based on the more you do, the more chance you have and some give you shopping vouchers. A good idea with the Voucher system is to save them up and use them for Christmas and birthday presents.

The thing you must be careful about is reading the 'terms and agreements'. Make sure the company is not passing any information on such as email and postal address's. This can lead to obvious emails and post you don't really want.

The better companies will usually ask you if they may pass information on. Like all things, when registering for anything, read the small print.

Something I've picked up is that it's important to do a Survey as soon as possible and don't leave the email in your inbox for too long. Some Companies may just want (and be paying for) the results from say 1,000 people, so as soon as that number is reached, they'll close it.
So it's something to pass a bit of time, if you have any ! and maybe get a little something back as well. I know people who enjoy doing them simply for that and the rewards are of no interest to them.

Most of the suggestions I use for earning extra money aren't going to make you a millionaire, but it's the pennies which make the £'s, the more thing's you do, the more you reap the benefits
