Re: Shed of the Year

Why do I keep thinking you need to get out more Wendy its a man thing or so I am told. I realy enjoyed the whole series and took a lot of inspiration from many of the ideas. Maybe next year I should enter. http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g65/cossieal/db32a0a7-ee12-49c5-bd8f-a2db60bfe5e1_zpsb69ce2...

A couple of flowery pictures.

We were sitting outside this evening enjoying the sunshine with a glass of wine or two and Mrs Al decided to take a few pictures with her phone. Its not a modern phone with all the bells and whistles but I think these pictures are realy good. http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g65/cossieal/10481382_1...

Re: My latest pallet project.

Thankyou all for the kind words. It was nice to get some wood working tools out again. At work its nearly all metal and fiberglass which is fun but it can get a bit tedious. Great job there Al , is that a piece of slate in the center of the table?, and is the wood waxed/polished or varnished?. Yes S...

My latest pallet project.

Its been a while since I have had chance to knock a few pallets to bits, over the last few weeks I have had a spare hour here and there so decided it was time to get my hammer out. And Mrs Al was wanting a new garden table so I have saved myself a few quid too. A couple of years ago I was gien a loa...

Re: Pallet collars...

A pallet collar is as Sejjie descriped and they sit on a pallet to turn it into a box more collars can be stacked on top to make the box deeper. Sejjie, most of the collars we used when I worked in the factory were made of plywood so would probably need a good few coats of something to prevent them ...

Re: Vietnamese ingenuity, making tools from nothing…

I love ingenuity like this. When I worked in the factory I snapped the wooden handle on my hammer so I welded a steel tube in its place and made a grip from self amalgamating tape. I had it for less than two shifts before it was confiscated and replaced with onother one with a lollypop stick for a h...

Re: Why buy Kindling Wood?

I never buy sticks either Richard. I have a large plastic tub where any offcuts from various projects get thrown. If its getting low I know its time I made something from wood.)t'
