One of mine is losing neck feathers as well, has been looking a bit scraggly for a couple of weeks. I was wondering whether it was moulting or not as well. Although it is still laying everyday.

I wonder why they object to red tennis balls!!?! Have you got any theories?

Wouldn't one problem with mixing such young chickens with Point-of-Lay be that the young ones would need growers' pellets, whereas the POLs would need layers' pellets? Mind you I am no expert! It is just speculation!
