Have you tried giving them mash instead. Mine prefer that to pellets.

Been really busy this last week. All brassicas are in and seemingly doing well. Onions are planted, leeks too. There is one big bed that needs weeding, so I'll do that tomorrow.

I'm getting one egg from 7 hens every now and again. Some are moulting, a couple haven't laid an egg for over a year. Hopefully those who do lay will start up again in a few weeks.

Probably a good idea to get more hens now while the days are shorter, I think it takes less time to introduce hens in the winter.

Calendular cream was recommended to me by my vet. Its antiseptic, and one of my hens had frost bite. Her comb healed completely. Vaseline is good for leg mites too.
