Re: Any Hedgehog stories?
I wouldn't worry that you may have put him/her off your garden Kitla ...Hedgehogs are nomadic and can travel up to 2 miles a night and nap in several nests during that time. If it's a female and has found a mate she will settle down and nest until the hoglets are around 5-6 weeks old when they'll wa...

Re: Hedgehogs And Electric Chicken Fencing!
Some good ideas Dom. The problem with hedgehogs is as soon as their snouts touch the wire they roll up in a ball so they carry on getting shocked and if you put a barrier to stop them getting close they simply climb over it. We have written to a couple of manufacturers but they weren't very helpful ...

Hedgehogs And Electric Chicken Fencing!
Over the years there has been a large number of hedgehogs killed as a result of getting entangled in electric chicken fencing. I'm hoping that with so many chicken keepers down the lane we can lead the way in finding a solution to this problem. Have any forum members had this happen .. if so how did...

Re: Make A Hole ..Make A Difference.
Thought I'd bump this thread as it's the time of the year when we tend to give the fences a lick of preservative and repair any broken bits.. If you haven't already done so, please make a hole 13cm x 13cm at the bottom of your fence for the hedgehogs to wander. Many people have seen their first hedg...

Re: How to keep Beau calm
June, have you contacted the foster mum who looked after beau to see if she can help. Even if she isn't close enough Many Tears has a big network of fosterers who would be only to happy to look after Beau for you in emergencies. If that's not possible then I would think that Beau would be happier in...

A very Happy Christmas to you too Beau .. and your mummy and Daddy. Bella and Barney send you their love too ... christmas is going to be so different this year. So pleased that Bella is now well and truly part of the family. I would guess that she is Miss September on the Many Tears calendar. Beau...

Re: Think it might be kismet .....
Good luck today Hazel.
My heart skipped a beat when I started reading this as I had a beautiful grey mare called Kismet when I was growing up ..then realised I was being silly as she would be in her 50's now and Kismet wasn't this horse's name anyway. Funny how the mind works isn't it.
