Re: Moles: A solution or coincidence?

2024 so far has seem a massive increase in the mole population everywhere causing no end of problems for people and farmers everywhere, but on the plus side if you have got them your ground must be fertile with plenty of worms etc in it for them and the soil that makes up the mole hills is great for...

Fool me once

Yesterday evening the Mrs and I finished watching the drama Fool me Once on Netflix. We binge watched the 8 parts over two days because we found it gripping with twists and turns in each episode and each episode finished with us wanting to the next one straight away. If you have access to Netflix I ...

Re: Lockdown 2021

I don't know if there are more cases and yes I think defra are trying to be stricter just to try and stop a country wide outbreak happening. My 20 hens are now under cover in the greenhouse but I think I am the only one that has done this on the allotment site which means if there did happen to be a...

Re: The Darling Buds of May

Ok I have now watched the first 3 episodes and I am starting to enjoy it. I think its a bit corny and nothing like the original series BUT its Sunday night viewing just like it used to be years ago (think along the lines of forever green, down to Earth, Where the Heart Is) something you can watch wi...

Re: Have you started stocking up for ... Christmas?

We had a discussion the other night with the daughter and her partner who will be joining us for Christmas and it was decided that no one wanted shop brought cakes, mince pies etc so we are going to home bake as much as we can. No one is keen on turkey except me so its beef for dinner and that along...

The Darling Buds of May

Anyone watching this new series with Bradley Walsh? Watched the first episode and thought I don't know if I like this or not, started watching episode two on Sunday and turned it off after I got side tracked and never went back to finish watching it. I loved the original series and I usually enjoy r...

Re: Sleep well my baby

A friend of mine has sent me the following poem that he has found on another site and it has set me off again. When Tomorrow Starts Without Me When tomorrow starts without me and I'm not there to see; The sun will rise and find your eyes, all filled with tears for me. I wish so much you wouldn't cry...

Sleep well my baby

I had to let Jess my springer go on Monday, in less than a week she had gone from an old dog still plodding around to a lady who did not want to get out of her bed. Apart from her slowing down she seemed fine but when I took her for her booster and check up our vet found a lump in her throat area an...

This is one of those programes that you can watch over and over again and never get bored of it.
John Thaw was such a good actor in everything he did and is still sadly missed.

My three girls need a new home

I’m afraid that due to the change in mine and my family’s circumstances. (Longer work hours, new babies and a possible house move) I have to re-home my 3 girls as I cannot continue to give them the time and attention they need and deserve. I have had these 3 since Feb 2009 (one was oven ready when I...

I got them home and put them in the house and my one remaining one from last year came charging in to see whats going on. She pushed the new ones out of the way a few times and w...
