Hi all, I have got 2 or 3 depending on whether you have got any chickens that need a new home. I rescued 8 in February and they have brilliant to have around, however over the last month I have noticed 2 clear groups and one group likes to sleep in the coop and the other group stays outside. I am no...

Are they ok in this cold weather
Hi all, My chicken house is all draught proof and I bed down really well with straw for the ladies. Due to the minus weather conditions are the chickens ok in there house without the need for any extra heat ie heat lamp I have checked on them this evening and felt under their wings to see how warm t...

Re: Dead hen - what do I do with her?
Hi,
Me too, mine was wrapped up with my waste bag and given to the dust men, felt pretty bad about it but then I thought she has had a great 8 months out of the battery house and I did not want the dogs to start digging her up.

Re: Moulting
the feathers are everywhere - looks like there has been an accident, I am still getting 3/4 eggs a day out of the 7 of them.
Got one that is looking a little sorry for her self today so will check her tomorrow - her bottom is a bit pooy if that makes sense.

Re: What happened?
That's fab Kelly. I wish I had a dog like yours, one of my chooks has vanished into thin air this afternoon. I only have the two. I only popped indoors for 5 minutes! I'm hoping and praying that she's just hiding somewhere (even though i've done a thorough search ) There is no evidence at all of an...

What happened?
Got home from work (in the dark as usual) tonight and I always greet the dogs and then pick up the torch and head out into the garden to check the ladies are tucked up in their house. I have an auto opener/closer so they are always in bed when I get home. I opened the door and then did a head count ...

Re: Water
they are cool - esp as they are raised really well so - where did you get them? Yes I have just started using the bases on the large ones as they tend to need fresh every day so I was wasting a lot of water so I just fill the bases up and then rinse them out at night (by the outside garden light!!) ...

Re: Water
These is the sort I have just taken the lid off ebay 380175497895 - they are raised a little and then I have these 380174023116 aswell but I find it easier to just rinse 380175497895 ones out and refill the base. As when I leave them in the mornings it is dark and when I get home in the evenings it ...

Water
Hey everybody, I just want to check if this is ok? I usually use three large water drinkers for my ladies in their run but due to the fact that they have got mountains of straw in there now they end up chucking the straw in the water!! I have got a shallow water drinker that that sits on the ground ...
