Re: Back in Time for Tea
I enjoyed it. The house really was altered. Hubby read an interview with the father of the family who said that he had just about finished getting the house how they wanted it when they were chosen as 'the family' - it was, of course, put right but what a shock it must have been at each change to wa...

Bet you're a happy bunny today! I was very worried that Ann might win...I would have hated a bigotted, nasty killjoy to win it, strong woman or not!

Re: Remembering School Dinners !!
At my junior school (1970s) we had ice cream that was made with powder and if they got the measurements wrong the ice cream was gritty I really dislike currants, raisins & sultanas and one day at junior school the pudding was 'fly pie' and custard. Mr Sherris wouldn't let me leave the table unti...

Update on my pets!
Since I was last here, Hector has grown into a real cutie (he is two and a half now) and we have also got Kiki who is almost 6 months. Her mum is a miniature JRT and dad is a grey poodle but she isn't very curly! Hector tolerates her some days, plays with her some days, bullies her some days and ign...

Re: Alabama Rot
We have had the first case of it up here in North Yorkshire - terrifying! It is in the place where Hector goes for his 'holidays' when we need him looked after. Luckily they are avoiding woodland walks & are washing all the dogs down when they finish their walks. It really is a horrendous disease.

Re: Who buys their Pets Christmas Presents ?
My mum has bought a couple for our dogs, I'm taking that as a sign that she grown to like them
I haven't bought then pressies but I did make a load of dog biscuits last night which I think they'll be happy enough with!

Lucy, hope you are feeling brighter - once you set your mind to it the weight will fall off. You have done brilliantly so far so no reason why you can't get rid of the few pounds that have sneaked on! Helen, glad you enjoyed your holiday - I reckon it's pretty standard to pile on the pounds, it show...

We're pretty settled - feels like we've been here for ages! We still have boxes to unpack but I'm just taking my time so I don't burn out - I am learning to manage my fibromyalgia a bit better and listening to my body more, it gets done when it gets done! Food is not great but not all bad so will ha...

Re: Positive about sorting my weight this time...
Ouch, that certainly is motivation! Well done on the 11lb loss. I have been putting on slowly - am about 4-5lb up. We decided to put the house on the market & move back up north to be near family. We sold within 4 days and it was all a bit hectic in the run up & during so food wasn't cooked ...

Growing up we used to have banana sandwiches or mashed banana, sugar & milk. Now I like to slice one on top of my porridge.

We watched the first couple of minutes of Are You Being Served before turning it off but enjoyed Porridge. Hyacinth should be interesting!
