Re: finding toys that arent made in Asia

When our Grand daughters were born we wanted to buy them a "proper" teddy bear so we bought them a Merrythought Teddy Bear based in Telford & I believe they may be the last UK teddy bear maker. They are really good quality & the girls will have them a lifetime hopefully. Hope this ...

Re: Johnny Kingdom

We heard the very sad news yesterday morning that Johnny died in an accident on his land involving a digger on Thursday evening. I know he hadn't been on tv in while (read his comment in original post) but he was a legend in our eyes. We were fortunate enough to meet him a few times, including going...

Re: Today Plastic straw free ...tomorrow who knows :)

I bought a new tub of cotton buds last week from Aldi & was very pleased to see they had changed the plastic stick for a paper one, well done to them & any other shops that have done it. Some of them are listening at last, hopefully it's not too late to look after our planet.

Cheap Birthday cards

Tesco at the moment have a lot of their greetings card with 50% off, I got 10 yesterday as always useful to top up the box of cards! Some of them are Hallmark as well. I think the offer was on until June.

Re: Nestboxes

Well, its all ended in tears in the nestbox. She abandoned them a few days ago but they were overdue to hatch so we are assuming they weren't viable. My only thought is she left them for a whole day during incubation when it was quite cool outside & they probably chilled then. It's a shame as th...

Re: Wildlifemad's Allotment Diary

On Saturday we went to the lotty in the rain to get the chicken wire put up. It took us nearly 5 hours as we buried it as well but we had quite a good system going, Hubby digging a clod out & then I dropped the wire in & put the clod back & we nailed it onto the posts as we went. Hopeful...

Re: Nestboxes

I put the tv on Saturday to check the nestbox & what a surprise, she had 7 eggs!! When she was nest building she made a great cup in the centre of the nest but she has decided to lay all the eggs on the edge!!!! On Sunday there were 8 eggs & it is still like that now & she is brooding th...

Nice photo, I was very brave & had quick look because I don't like snakes!! Frightened me years ago on tv & never got over it, made even worse by finding one on our lotty which was a fully grown grass snake!! It sent me strange for days!!!

Re: Wildlifemad's Allotment Diary

I've got on the plot most days last week for a couple of hours just trying to weed. Spent one hour walking the paths just to pull dandelion flowers off!! Everyone is in the same boat now chasing their tails to catch up. The garlic is looking really good now. On Sunday we did 5 hours. We uncovered a ...

Re: Karen's 2015 garden diary

That is so annoying for you Karen, I know exactly how you feel because as I have mentioned on my diary previously we get break-ins with nothing taken, its usually kids. The water butt wouldn't have blown over unless there had been a hurricane & I think you would have noticed!! Do you have mains ...
