Re: How does your garden grow?

Not updated this for a while so here goes. Victoria plums - only about a dozen from 3 trees. Not many greengages either. Damsons reasonable (I like them raw when ripe, as well as stewed or in jam). There were many too high to reach, they've formed a thicket at the bottom of the garden, from runners ...

Re: Cheapest Petrol Prices in your Area

<t>My daughter & partner needed to go and take photos for a Cheshire Life walks article, so we went walking in S Cheshire yesterday. They needed to fill up to get home so we came back through the centre of Nantwich. 2 supermarkets with no fuel and he was getting worried that if they drove around...

Re: Piano / keyboard thread

There always is so much to learn. I had piano lessons as a child. Learnt to read music and played lots of scales and arpeggios (except we called them broken chords). But always played the left hand from the notes, not chords. So I wouldn't know what chords to put with a melody. I have a piano accord...

Well you should (or shouldn't) seen the fragment of Flemish Glass in Acton Church near Nantwich. The annunciation. And what is that sticking out from Gabriel's robe? Oh, that's how it happened was it?

Worrying when things start going wrong. They are part of the family, specially when you live alone.

Re: How does your garden grow?

Weeds. Tell me about it. I've been struggling too. A session today on the brambles before the Green Bin is emptied tomorrow. I've dug my potatoes, some have been badly hollowed out by slugs, and I couldn't get the variety I wanted. Picked the last of the Czar early plums (except a few high ones). Go...

. But while the rich keep on getting richer, and the poor at the bottom of the pile are expected to make sacrifices, nothing will be solved. The very people who created the problem are those with the most money. They are not going to stop jetting around the world, launching themselves into space, a...

Exactly. What is needed is long term thinking. What we get is headline grabbing.

Tabitha too. This morning I was talking to my grandson and saw & removed a vole, then later was on the phone and and looked down at a mole. Wouldn't have thought they were that easy to catch.

Re: Extreme weather + Climate Change

The workplace parking levy IS green. Well, it's 'let's pretend to be green'. Just like the bedroom tax was about releasing big houses for people who need them. Neither any good unless there were alternatives in place - home working & public transport, smaller houses. The other pretence was giving co...

That all sounds very complicated.
But I get the picture, and recognise the chain of unexpected consequences snags and frustrations.
