Re: Spicing up the cooking
I've got a couple of the multi cookers (a slow cooker/pressure cooker/rice cooker saute thingy etc ...only thing it doesn't do is the hoovering which is a shame)...I love them and we use them a lot especially in the winter. I do pulled pork or corned beef or pickled pork in them either by pressure (...

I've got to get off to bed now but I'll have a look and see what's going on.
We've never had any problems with them LL and we have some gnarly winds here.lancashire lass wrote: ↑ 09 Apr 2023, 10:38 How do these runs cope with strong winds? Just going off the first photo and imagining the wind going "into" the covered section.

Re: Spicing up the cooking
Nice thread LL...we eat a lot of spicey food to make things intersting...in winter a lot of tagines (love Moroccan food so Ras Al Hanut gets used a lot in this house).I have a tagine but I find I like to double up on recipes so I've got a second meal when I'm working which hubby or youngest can heat...

Re: Any thoughts?
A few years ago we bought a few dog runs as they were going cheap and were sure we could use them as chicken runs. More recently we decided to turn one of them into a chicken tractor space is not an issue so it can moved all the time but you can easily turn one into a run that doesn't move (in fact ...

Re: Strange creatures Turkeys
Hi Trev .... We used to keep Turkeys (I really miss them I love chickens but I think Turkeys are much more interesting birds to be honest)....our Jenny's used to regularly share nest sitting duties. After the poults arrived they'd share looking after them too so maybe they are much more communal tha...

Re: How many of you have had your Covid jab?
I will get mine in the next couple of months in NZ...Front line staff are being vaccinated first (in Managed Quarantine facilities) then primary care (GP surgeries etc and ED) then hospitals and onwards. As we don't have and community cases makes sense. I feel a little uneasy they are opening the bo...

Re: We'll need a negative Covid test before they let us back
We had friends in quarantine in Australia at the same time we were in quarantine in Thailand. Although they are Australian nationals, unlike us foreigners in Thailand, they had to stay in a hotel, at their own expense, and not leave their room or open their windows for 14 days. Yep same here in NZ ...

Re: Covid again - a couple of interesting articles
I have always said that any head of government no matter what country they are in knew how to deal with this outbreak. If they don't then the scientists do and so do public health and so do epidemiologists...this is about standing back (leaders being able to put aside their egos) and allowing those...

Re: Covid again - a couple of interesting articles
....I don't pretend to be an expert but it seems to me that the majority of these viruses originate from either close contact with intensively farmed animals or the illegal meat trade in wild animals. We need more vegetarians and vegans! Or, at the very least organic naturally farmed livestock. I c...

Re: Covid again - a couple of interesting articles
What really gets me about the Trump handling of the virus is the way he referred to it as the 'Chinese' virus. For goodness sake, the so-called 'Spanish Flu', which killed more than Covid has so far, had nothing to do with Spain, and in all likelihood it originated in the USA. I won't talk about th...
