My 3 have been doing this every night for a couple of weeks now. So far every night I have been trooping out there with my headlight and getting them into bed!
Maybe I should leave them up there?

Re: Basic pallet...
I must say, we found splitting pallets a bit hit and miss and had a bit of firewood too :)
Which is why we looked at what we could do with it mostly intact hehe.

Re: HAVE WE BEEN RIPPED OFF?
I think I must have been lucky. I paid a tenner for 3 welsummers @ 7 weeks old.
I realise that buying Point-of-Lay chickens would be more expensive, due to the feeding and care for a few months more.
A couple of farms round here charge £12.50 and £16 for various Point-of-Lay hybrids.

Re: Kindle
I love my Kindle. It has to be the best gadget ever :) along with my PC and digital camera. What did I ever do without them ? I always used to hunt out books in the charity shops, but since getting the Kindle I have bought only 3! (8 months-ish) I also used to buy Hardcover Stephen King or Terry Pra...

It is green frog designs you are thinking of. m" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I bought an eglu, decided to send it back within 10 minutes of opening the box. It looked way to small for our needs. We later found out i...

Re: Chickens not going to bed...
Well... They were all shuffed up on the shelf again (gone 10pm :) ) I took the head-light out with me, which they seemed to like, they were watching it anyway. I popped them down, one by one and shone the torch into the back of the coop, They shuffled about a bit but with a helping hand managed to f...

Re: ferret kits
You might find that if you move them, mum moves them back :)
I think the 'cushion' under the shelf sounds a good'un.
I've not had kits but I do have 4 monsters!

Re: Chickens not going to bed...
Thanks for the welcomes and replies :) I did just give the coop a wipe around (just in case) It is still pretty clean in there and it is a plastic one. No sign of anything amiss, that I could see. http://i361.photobucket.com/albums/oo53/ferretmonsters/chickens/100_0670.jpg We have bought some Diatom...

My 3 Welsummers (about 7 and a half weeks old now) http://i361.photobucket.com/albums/oo53/ferretmonsters/chickens/100_0697.jpg Have been putting themselves to bed around 8'ish since we first got them (almost 2 weeks ago). The past 2 nights they have a had a sit-up-on-the-high-shelf Protest. Is it p...
