I listen to the radio in the car, and that's about it. It's tuned in to Radio 4, if there is nothing interesting on, I turn it off. I have a stereo at home. Radio, tapes, cd's, and record deck. I haven't had it on for ages. I get all my entertainment from youtube.

They are back
I sometimes feed my cats outside the back door when the weather is dry, now it's getting warmer. The wild birds take whatever is left over. The birds are waiting for me each morning to see what I am going to put out on the lawn for them. It is quickly scoffed. I have noticed a few small poo's dotted...

Re: Grow plans for 2023
I gave up growing veg a few years ago. I have a massive slug and snail problem here. The raised beds now have flowers and shrubs in them.

Re: Have you stopped using your oven?
I have never used my oven in the 20 years that I have been here. I can do all I want on the gas hob, the grill, and the microwave. I did have a slow cooker when I was working. That was useful, load it up in the morning and a hot meal when I arrive home. I gave it away, don't need it now. A lot of my...

Re: for Meanqueen (and anyone else) ...
Thanks for the tip. Even cutting through it after it has been peeled is hard going. Maybe I need a new sharper knife.

Re: Spicing up the cooking
I have given up with butternut squash. Too chuffing hard to peel and chop up.

Re: Short supply ...
My preference for cat food is Home Bargains, even that has increased in price. Tesco too expensive. I go every 8 to 10 weeks and spend £100 + at a time. I buy the bigger boxes 40 pouches, sometimes 80 if they have any in stock. I now have two more cats, making the total 4.

Re: Ilona's handmade makes. New thread
Recently finished. I used a piece of fabric with the design already on it, and added some artificial petals painted with glitter glue, embellished it with embroidery, lace, beads, and sequins. A piece of broken jewellery in the centre. It is stretched over a canvas and laced at the back, then fully ...

Re: New Photography Thread.
A foggy walk just before Christmas. I always want to sharpen edges, I think with this one I leave it alone. I like the reflections in the water. https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjbBJMd4sWUozyQMyXggC9cS8sMBaJ8A4_l9hAjWJm-Od2sVGiQuG_uNDZ29aNFb1iu6Ou8e_sHFK1WdtzHKV6w5qIz2fO1YtIdTmtYcW4...

Re: Homemade soup
I suppose the other soaker-upper might be porridge oats. Porridge oats works well. Doesn't need to be a lot as it swells up. Could grind it to a powder first in a blender if you prefer. I use packet sauce mixes, only half the packet, mix with cold water in a mug and add it a few minutes before the ...

Re: Covid - do we just need to get back to normal?
My life has been pretty normal throughout, apart from a few changes I made. I don't go into enclosed areas where there are a lot of people, don't like crowds anyway. I spend a lot of time in my own house and garden, and outdoors driving and walking. I have turned down the chance of a stall at our Ch...

A walk over the Humber Bridge last Sunday. It was getting dark as I walked back to my car, parked on the South Bank.

I don't know much about the camera I use, I just point and shoot. Maybe you could just twiddle the knobs and buttons and put it on automatic, then point and press the shutter.

A walk yesterday around Cawood and Wistow, North Yorkshire. I love trees and skies, can you tell. https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ji6kAMlNioA/YYWW2P0ZWeI/AAAAAAAA3Oc/z51CzU-OUbEMrZIKwXN9f6aJ3JPTA5rTgCLcBGAsYHQ/w400-h300/IMG_2024.JPG https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-haBe43dMQTE/YYWZqEGkC5I/AAAAAAAA3P0/6Cwge8kcv...
