Is there anyway you could raise the height of the fence of the garden divider rather than clip their wings? If you have to clip them and I appreciate that there are some situations ...

Hi and welcome...
I'm afraid I can't be of much help here as my girls free range so I don't know how quickly and area that size would get mucked up...but there will be someone who can help.
Good Luck

Is there any way you could make a nest at ground level? If you have a box with a front opening that you could put at ground level they can come and go out of the nest and avoid injuries.

Hi to you all....
We are lucky here as New Zealand doesn't have foxes so that's one fight we don't have to have, but being ex of the UK I know just how hard the battle can be and Mr Fox can be very inventive in ways to get to the girls...

Where abouts are you? I'm in North Canterbury and yep it is starting to get a bit chilly! I would say if you know of some ex-batts that are going get them, you run the risk of losing them (but then that's a risk anytime) but the one thing is for sure if you don't get them now they'll definitely die....

My girls have pellets and in the winter when it starts to get cold I mix it with a bit of warm water so they have mash. So I suppose I have to vote pellets because that's what I buy

I have never washed my girls...they might get a shower if it rains. Do they have somewhere they can have a dustbath?
Are you showing them? If not you don't really need to wash them they will see to themselves.
If you really do want to give them a bath I found this...

Hope that helps
