Blue tit advice please
Blue tit advice please
For the last week there has been much coming and going to my new Bird Hotel nest box. I have been so thrilled as I’ve never had any nest in my boxes before! Anyway, they were making a proper din for about a week, and we could see them poking their little heads out of the hole! Mum and dad were relentlessly feeding them, then yesterday silence. And today. Do you think they have flown the nest? I’m so worried about them as there’s no sign of them in or around my garden? Should I check the nest box?

I would think they have gone, they don't hang around once out of the box.
Especially as they were popping their little heads out.

As Wendy says, would think they have flown the nest. You may have more come yet, so keep watching.

Thank you. I’ve been worrying all day about them. It was SO noisy, and now dead quiet.

I have some which have done exactly the same thing, twice this year. I think they must fledge very early in the morning. I'm quite pleased that the fledglings didnt hang about on the grass like blackbirds, as the nestbox is just above an area my chickens hang out.
