I did my first Covid test at home yesterday and sent it off.
The rules for people returning from abroad from non-red list countries are we have to self-quarantine at home for 10 days and submit a Covid test on days 2 and 8. These go off to an NHS testing centre but are not free, I have had to pay £210 for the privilege but that is still better than having to pay for hotel quarantine.
I feel fine and won't have Covid unless I picked up something on the plane journey home, so hopefully all will negative.

Is that £210 for each test or the total, Michael?, Like you say though still cheaper than having to go into a hotel.
Fingers crossed here it comes back negative.

Re: Done my first Covid test at home
Fortunately, that is for the both tests but as you say far cheaper than hotel quarantine.
Test 1 came back negative today, so I just need a negative for test 2 next week than I can book my Covid jab.

Re: Done my first Covid test at home
Second Covid test, done on Sunday, has come back negative.
This means that, as from tomorrow, I no longer have to isolate and will just be under the same restrictions as the rest of the general population. It also means that I can leave the house and go for a walk or a run outside
