I want to say he is in the same group that Noddy Holden is in............cannot even remember the groups name, let alone his.

I was going to say Neil Young but with the Slade clue - Dave Hill. He was Johnnie Walker's guest on Sounds of the 70s a few weeks back.
As an aside, I must say that I much prefer Neil Young to Slade any day

On tv last night we had TOTP's from the 70's era with Christmas songs and they were on that.

I wouldn't have got that. I lost interest in pop music when they were in the charts.
