It's a mystery to me. I've looked on the BT website but can't work out how much it will cost to phone a mobile.
Are all mobiles the same? Is it cheaper to phone in the evening? Is it cheaper to phone from the landline or my Orange mobile (that I hardly ever use cos I'm scared it will cost too much)? How can I tell how dear it will be?
Help!!

Re: Bt phone charges
Well, since you lot didn't know I asked my daughter and she said she uses
18185
in front of some of her calls as they are cheaper than BT.
So I had a look 5p set-up charge, then 6 or 7p/min to mobiles, free to landlines
After a bit of searching I found BT's charges. Set-up charge 11.5p
And for mobiles it lists different charge bands fm1 - fm9 at 13p/min daytime & 7p/min evening fm10-17 & fw1 -11 vary between 10 & 18p/min some are cheaper at the weekend, some in the evening. How the heck are you supposed to sort that out??
Looks like the 18185 option is the best except for the evening and weekend landline and 0845 calls that I get free from BT. I'll certainly use it in the daytime as a call to a landline that just gets to "please leave a message" costs 19p with BT's set-up and 1 minute charge.

Re: Bt phone charges
I've just had a look at their site Mo and it does look good - even for non BT customers.. Its just remembering to use the prefix number each time isnt it? but it looks as though you'd save a fortune! especially people like me who phone abroad at least once per week..

You might have removed the link, but the user name is the same as the business name, and can be googled. They won't be back.

If people want to google that is their risk. May be a genuinely helpful website but I'm not going to click to find out
