Richard's magical mystery frugal February !

Post by Richard »

By that I mean I've just got back from Southampton and with the impending move I really don't know what's coming up with finances this month.
Whatever does I shall endeavour to spend the least amount I can.
I think I mentioned that last October I had a big few weeks changing Energy Supplier, getting a cheaper deal with Sky and cancelled a few things I subscribe to, so at present, should I stay here which I'm not, there's not much to cut down on.
Saying that it is my intention to sell my little Camper Van, pay off the remainder of the loan and buy something with the cash balance. This will save me around £160pm.
Other than that I'm sure I will come up with some savings somewhere else along the line. Maybe just don't leave the Lane for a few weeks !

I had a nice surprise yesterday.
You may recall me saying I changed to Scottish Power about a year ago and instantly saved around £40 per month.
I had a reading done about two weeks ago and just received a payment of £193 !!
Couldn't believe it.
Other than that, I'm still racking my brains for ways to cut down on other bills. Again, a big sort out last Autumn.
However I am avoiding impulse purchases of Kit-Kats when at the shops.:-D
Having that flu bug helped me through January and early February, hardly left the Lane.
I normally go to Dungeness once a week which is a 40 mile round trip plus other adventures to North Kent Marshes.
Reckon I saved about £35 there.

Good for you Richard. One of our purchases this month will be an ash pan! Our existing pan has a crack in it. Fuel is a big outlay, trips to the hospital!
Hope you find out soon where and when you are likely to move.
