Hydrangas's
Hydrangas's
Having watched Monty on Gardeners world the other week I decided to have a go at getting some Hydranga shoots to grow. I put five in round the edge of a plant pot with compost and so far two have taken, all I have done is misted them two/three times a day, so quite pleased with myself........brag, brag. LOL

I can just feel that satisfied feeling that you must have. Great when successful

I think that the propagating part is the best bit of gardening - so satisfying!
Thing is that the downs are as big as the ups! I nurtured my geranium cuttings, hardened them of carefully, put them out for the summer and did't get them back in fast enough - half of them died from frost damage. I felt soooo disappointed, and cross with myself.
Good luck with the rest of the hydrangeas.

Re: Hydrangas's
Just an update, all cuttings have fizzled out and died, so not to be outdone I have today taken some cuttings from young shoots and put them in water on the kitchen window sill. If that fails I will try again in potting compost. Wish me luck.

Awww, that's a shame. Let us know how you get on.
I had one I thought had gone for a burton, but it had just died back in the cold and seems to be on its way again now.
