Hi Dave
I have never had a broody hen (touch wood), but some let them get on with it, and some shut them out of the coop, its not easy either way, i'm sure someone will be along with more advice for you)x1(

I have only had the one and she wasn't bad. I just turfed her out the nest and closed the door. But that isn't possible this time of year, too cold.
Something made me think the light had something to do with it. But as we have short days, that obviously isn't the case.
Just let her get on with it, it looks like.

I agree, it's more dangerous when they go broody during the summer months and overheat. You can try exercising her manually for a short while, but other than that, it's a time thing. Can't be far off though, just make sure she's eating OK.

Our Rosie was broody for 10 weeks earlier in the year. What a nightmareyike*
We tried everything and in the end just left her to it. She just came out of it on her own. I think all our efforts to put her off just compounded the situation and made her feel even more broody!
Good luck, they are pesky aren't they{warn}
