You're not alone Richard.
Had a little walk around the garden this morning and it does seem to be looking after itself though
.. will get the camera out later.

Quite right too - both of you need to take it easy
So frustrating though isn't it

Just as well if I had seen any work done on your plot, you would have been in very big trouble, have no doubt about that
It will be alright in the end , if its not alright, it isn't the end .

Re: Richard's Growing my Own Diary 2013
I did some gardening today!!!!
But before Annie gets in a car, drives down and sorts me out....
The patch is all dug and raked from a couple of weeks ago so I prepared for the Onion Sets by taking two walking sticks up and using one of them to prod holes into the soil all ready for whenever and the other one just in case!!

Very inventive of you. Tomorrow you can go along with the bag of onions and try throwing them into the holes! A whole new olympic sport is invented...
.
Take care and get better before you try anything else. Even a years supply of onions isn't worth doing your back in again.

I am now remembering an episode of The Good Life where Tom had a bad back, I think he used a sieve on the end of a pole to plant potatoes.

Re: Richard's Growing my Own Diary 2013
29th. April
At last !

Struglled somewhat but got the Broad Beans planted out (bottom), Onion Sets in (under bread boxes to stop it being a cat toilet!), Runner Bean Poles up and two rows of Beetroot between the poles as always.
All done carefully pacing myself over the last three days.
Just a bit more digging (bottom left). All the other areas are for Three Sisters (Sweet Corn, Squash and French Beans) and Courgettes.
Need to sow the Carrots next, in pots. Most other stuff under way in Greenhouse

Big Ron could stand outside the back door and wee on the Onions from there
In act, he was having a dirt bath in there just before I put the Sets in, probably thinks he's a Chicken !
One thing I have noticed is the amount of stones which have worked their way upwards toward the surface, last year there were less, must have been all the rain raising everything up.

Looking good Richard
I've just found all four chickens dust-bathing in the newly-reseeded patch in the middle of the lawn I forgot to cover it with the bucket before letting them out!

Re: Richard's Growing my Own Diary 2013
Oh what a perfect day - the song was sung true today.
I planted out the Runner Beans at least and strimmed all round the outside of the Veggie patch.
It actually looks quite nice now!
I'm a wee bit concerned though. Rabbits are abundant in the field just 60 or so meters away and have been in next door but one's garden.
Big Ron is either seeing them off or catching them quite well but I've noticed something's been at the Broad Beans.
I'm now scared I'll go up the garden one morning and find it all completely decimated.
Fingers are crossed !
