NAIL VARNISH & REMOVER
Using products you have around the home for other jobs
1. For Warts
If you have a wart on your hand, don't go rushing down to the Pharmacy to buy special creams. To prevent the wart spreading and to seal it, just put a bit of nail varnish on it. Usually the wart will disappear within a week.
2. Repairing tights
Probably the one that every woman knows, but if you don't, simply dab some clear varnish at the far end of the split and this will hold them until you get home and if necessary, last a few washes as well.
3. Strengthening Screws
Smearing some nail varnish around a screw before inserting into the wood or wall will give it extra strength and hold
4. Stained Glass
For the smaller decorations such as placing a candle behind glass, make an attractive pattern with different coloured nail varnishes to create a stained glass window effect. Especially appropriate for Christmas!
5. Mark amount levels in Buckets and Cans
If you know you need a certain amount of water or some other liquid to do a particular job on a regular basis, mark the side of the container with varnish, it's better and more resistant than a Marker Pen.
6. Rust on Toilet Seat Screws
Blokes will know what a nuisance it is when you have to either take a toilet seat off or repair one, the screws have invariably got rusty and are hard to undo. When installing a new toilet seat, smear some varnish all round the screw and bolt and this will prevent the rust getting in.
Nail Varnish Remover
1. Loosen Super Glue
If you've dropped a bit of super glue onto your skin it's a long and slow process waiting for it to go and attempting to peel it off would more than likely remove your skin as well. Enter Nail Varnish Remover, soak some in some cotton wool and hold on the affected area until it dissolves.
2. Computer Keyboards
Remover is great for cleaning dirt off your keyboard and for getting into the little nooks and crannies, use a Wool Bud or Toothbrush. As it's liquid, don't overdo it though.
3. Stubborn Stickers on Items
How many times have we brought something and can't get the bloomin sticker the Manufacturer has plonked on it right in a visible place. To remove, simply smear some Remover over the sticker, wait a few minutes and it will wipe off.
4. Marker Graffiti
Nail Polish Remove is one of the few things which will clean permanent marker graffiti. Soak some onto a cloth and rub away.
5. Removing paint from Windows
No matter how good we are at painting windows, we usually leave a few little dabs behind. Soak some Nail Polish Remover onto a cloth, dab the paint, wait a few moments and wipe away the paint!
